Training Summary:
This training supports youth service providers to explore their communication styles and strengthen their capacity to build communication skills across differences. Participants will develop shared language around misunderstanding, generative conflict, harm, and accountability while also practicing trauma-informed and culturally responsive communication strategies. Through reflection, somatic practices, and guided discussion, participants will build relational and cultural competence and enhance their ability to engage effectively with children, families, and colleagues. The training emphasizes both the embodied ways we respond to conflict and the cultural contexts that shape those responses, providing frameworks to lean in and turn toward conflict rather than avoid it. Participants will leave with practical tools such as clearer communication skills, and strategies to promote more stable, respectful, and culturally competent environments of support and collaboration.
