TRAINING SUMMARY & OBJECTIVES
Training Summary: Provide
a couple sentences summary (content themes/training techniques, and how this
training is relevant to working with children who live in out of home care)
From shared
experience and didactic expression of narrative participants will work to
understand their identities. Following the Ken Hardy curriculum as a framework,
participants will unpack how their unique expressions can have increased
positive exchanges with youth and families.
Class Objectives: (what knowledge, ideas or skills will participants
explore, learn, practice, etc during the training)
1. Increase
understanding of ecological domains as it relates to cultural identity.
2. Encourage our
curiosity around multicultural relational perspectives, as outlined by Ken
Hardy.
3. Provide framework for thinking relationally to foster youth
to increase sense of self in relation to others.
How can participants utilize their new
skills and knowledge after the training to reinforce their learning?
- Deepen
knowledge of the Ken Hardy core competencies in relationship with others.
- Foster
understanding of identity
- Build
skills on how to navigate difficult conversations as it relates to race
