Families Impacted by Historical, Intergenerational, and Individual Trauma
Presented
by Jeanette Lopez-Urbina, LCSW
In this training, participants will
learn about principles of engagement that can be applied when providing
services to families who have experienced generations of trauma, including
individual, intergenerational, and historical trauma. Typical challenges found
in the engagement process in supporting this population will also be
identified, such as cultural implications, bias, and social justice issues.
Lastly, we will discuss practices and effective strategies for the engagement
process and in building a positive alliance with families from a trauma
informed and multicultural perspective.
