Training Summary:


During this training, participants will review their roles in assessing and intervening to prevent suicide as defined by professional organizational ethics and legal statutes.  Participants will deepen their knowledge and understanding about the drivers to suicidal ideation and what they can do when they are working with a client with suicide risk.
 

 

Class Objectives:

1.       List 3 questions to include in a suicide assessment with youth

 

2.       Describe 2 options of mitigating risk when youth in care confirms increased suicide ideation

 

3.       List 2 follow-up steps needed after a session with a client who is experiencing suicide ideation

How can participants utilize their new skills and knowledge after the training to reinforce their learning?

1.       When a youth in care shows signs of suicidal ideation, reference the process document for next steps

 

2.       Document all steps and support strategies implemented when working with a youth who is suicidal
