Training Summary:
During this training, participants will review their roles in assessing and
intervening to prevent suicide as defined by professional organizational ethics
and legal statutes. Participants will
deepen their knowledge and understanding about the drivers to suicidal ideation
and what they can do when they are working with a client with suicide risk.
Class Objectives:

Discuss how to apply Joiner’s theory to a
current youth in the participant’s case load

Describe two drivers to suicide ideation
that can be addressed through specific support stratgies
3.
List two evidence-based practices known
to address suicide behavior
How
can participants utilize their new skills and knowledge after the training to
reinforce their learning?

Apply theories on why people have
suicidal thoughts to youth in care in order to identify support strategies
around these drivers
2. Increase attention around clients’ cultural factors, and how they are
impacting their suicide ideation expression and desire
