Class Description:

Training Summary: 

During this training, participants will review their roles in assessing and intervening to prevent suicide as defined by professional organizational ethics and legal statutes.  Participants will deepen their knowledge and understanding about the drivers to suicidal ideation and what they can do when they are working with a client with suicide risk.
 

 

Class Objectives:

1.       List 2 requirements needed for a youth’s safety plan

 

2.       Explore at least two different prevention methods for suicide     

 

3.       Describe what a suicide risk curve is

How can participants utilize their new skills and knowledge after the training to reinforce their learning?

1.       When doing collaborative safety planning, use the Safety Planning Intervention with clients

 

2.       Ask caregivers about weapons and medications kept in the household
