Training Summary:

In today’s interconnected world, fostering both community and personal well-being is essential for creating fulfilling and balanced lives. This comprehensive training is designed to promote holistic well-being at both the individual and community levels by looking at the key components of well-being, including emotional, social, and psychological aspects, and understand how they interconnect to impact overall quality of life. This training focuses on the vital role of community and personal well-being in fostering the resilience and growth of foster system-involved youth, and the people who work with them. It aims to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge to support these young individuals effectively by leveraging community resources and promoting personal well-being strategies.

Through this training, participants will gain a deepener understanding of the complexities faced by system-involved youth and the crucial role of both community and personal well-being in their development. Additionally, participants will learn practical approaches to support these youths, promoting their long-term success and well-being. This training integrates psychological principles with practical strategies to help participants build stronger personal resilience while enhancing their contributions to community health and cohesion.  

Class Objectives:

1.       Participants will be able to understand and discuss the psychological impact of system involvement, including trauma, stigmatization, and disrupted attachments.

2.       Participants will be able to identify, analyze, and discuss the influence of community support systems and culturally responsive practices in community engagement.

3.       Participants will be introduced to strategies to foster resilience and self-efficacy in themselves and in system-involved youth with a focus on self-care and personal development as part of the supportive process.

4.       Participants will be able to discuss how community support and personal well-being are interlinked and mutually reinforcing.
