Course Description:
Managers (both new and experienced) often find
themselves supervising staff from instinct. This method often falls short of
meeting the needs of supervisees and ultimately impacting the youth that these
supervisees serve. This training is designed to help participants gain
managerial skills that supplement their instincts so that they can better
support successful foster youth outcomes. This combination should result in
managers facilitating the development of their supervisees on an ongoing basis.
Participants will explore practical strategies for successful supervision of
staff from the beginning of the relationship. Setting performance goals, giving
feedback and effective documentation will be covered.
