Many system involved youth and their families are survivors of interpersonal violence and other traumatic experiences which impact their ability to regulate their nervous systems. Those who work with them often find themselves becoming dysregulated in the process of learning about their client’s experiences. Learn simple techniques from the fields of energy medicine and energy psychology which providers can teach to youth and families and use themselves to regulate their nervous systems.

 

Class Objectives: (what knowledge, ideas or skills will participants explore, learn, practice, etc during the training) Provide at least 3 class objectives.

1.       Define nervous system dysregulation

2.       Enhance your understanding of energy psychology and energy medicine

3.       Learn techniques to help support your own and your client’s nervous system when dysregulated

 

How can participants utilize their new skills and knowledge after the training to reinforce their learning? (provide at least 2 transfer of learning strategies)

1.        Create a plan to integrate energy medicine techniques into your work with youth

2.        Recognize nervous system dysregulation in yourself and utilize at least one of the techniques taught in this training
