Class Description:

The Seneca foster care pre-approval training series is primarily designed for prospective ISFC (Intensive Services Foster Care) resource parents with the purpose of developing or strengthening the knowledge, understanding and skills essential when caring for traumatized foster youth with intensive needs.

 


This class will be held on Saturdays online via Zoom. The link will be sent out on the Friday before the training around 4pm. If you sign up after 4pm or do not receive the link, please email Alicia Serapio at alicia_serapio@senecacenter.org



Overview of Child Welfare and the Juvenile Justice System: RFA Pre-Approval Training


Participants will come away from this training with a better understanding of the organizational structure and role of the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, the resource parent’s role in the continuum of service delivery within child welfare and juvenile justice systems as well as various options for permanency. In addition, there will be an overview of special needs populations within child welfare that may require specialized training.
